Social Program for Accompanying Persons.

 

 Thursday, March 6th, 2008

7:00 p.m.  Official inauguration at Paraninfo (main auditorium) de la Universidad de Guadalajara, Avenida Juárez # 975.  Wine  reception  in the hall of the Paraninfo at the end of the official ceremony.
              

 Friday, March 7th, 2008

9:30 – 16:00 City Tour and visit to San Pedro Tlaquepaque for accompanying persons. This is a small colonial-era village, famous as a center for traditional arts and craftsmanship, mariachi music and fine food. Lunch included in one of the restaurants in San Pedro. Included with the Registration fee for accompanying persons.

7:00 p.m. Mexican dinner at Museo de la Ciudad de Guadalajara (the old Capuchinas Monastery), Independencia Street # 684 at the Historical Center in downtown Guadalajara, phone 1201-8712. Included with the Registration Fee.

 

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

10:00 – 13:00 Cooking class for accompanying persons at Restaurant La Rotisserie with Chef Jean Louis Peres, Avenida Providencia street at the corner with Ottawa, Colonia Lomas Providencia, Guadalajara.

7:00 p.m. Farewell Dinner at El Patio Los Naranjos in the Hospicio Cabañas, include a visit to the famous mural of Jose Clemente Orozco “The Man on Fire” at the dome of this building that was used as an orphanage at the beginning of the XIX century. Cost:  US $ 60.00 per person.
